Continues to impress

I have been very pleased with my experience with Turbo Tax. Waiting in on the update for Form1116 was disappointing however was able to find accurate information as to when update would be available via google searches because website was not updated.

Disappointed with Turbo Tax

Turbo Tax Deluxe was a disappointment for tax year 2021. The required updates were not ready until 3 March. Once the updates were received, specifically for the foreign tax credit associated with Form 1116 the program informed me that because there was a carryover credit from a previous year which required Schedule B the Turbo Tax software did not support being able to e-file either the Fed or State tax forms. The commentary within the software simply stated Form 1116 Schedule B would be available in a future product update. No mention of the timeframe thus you can only assume it will not be available for tax year 2021. Very disappointing given this would have been the first year in the past 30+ years that I would have received a refund and actually a sizable amount. I use this product to be able to e-file which increases the security of the transmission and reduces the timeframe to receive the refund. Given the COVID situation and the general state of the IRS this presents higher than normal risks to security and timeliness of processing.
I also found that the import of financial data from the brokerage account did not transfer and/or integrate correctly causing me to manually input the financial date from the brokerage account statements.
I have been using Turbo Tax for 20+ years and unfortunately the product has not matured. When I get the time I will be contacting customer service in an effort to get a refund for this years product.

Good tax program that we have been using for years

Fairly easy to use even with itemizing deductions and inputting investment info. Could use a better list for charitable deductions of items donated to Goodwill. Good instructions and Help function is useful.
