Turbo Tax is a great program

I've used TurboTax for many years, and am very pleased with it. The only complaint that I have is that it should include State e-filing for free.

TurboTax Is Very Good--But Has Its Quirks

I've been using TurboTax since 1999 so I obviously like using it. It does a good job and allows e-filing which is convenient. It will sometimes go astray, however. This year it made me deal with some issue about child support but I neither pay nor receive it. I had to go into the tax form and put in a zero. Last year it insisted I owned a farm, which I don't. These types of things are frustrating because you have no idea where they come from nor whether you'll be able to fix it. This year, I couldn't finish my taxes in early February because it turned out NC hadn't release the 2021 forms yet. I was able to get hold of a live person from TurboTax fairly easily. She was helpful and recommended I check back for updates in a few weeks which worked fine. Actually e-filing the taxes can be challenging because of all the steps. In the past I've had trouble when the software asked me to log into my account but somehow my information didn't match its. Then I was stuck. This year I just chose to file as a guest which seems a good workaround.
