Turbo tax was better this year

I bought the "free state filing" edition and downloaded it. So it isn't free to efile and cost me an additional $60. Pretty frustrating.

Excellent Program

This is the first year I have used TurboTax. Overall, I found it better than other programs I have used, although a few things could have been explained more clearly. (But let's face it . . . taxes can be complicated.)

QUICK EASY BUT - STATE TAX FILING FEES

It seemed to be much easier this year to file - I only have one complaint and that is having to pay for both state I live in and work in for state filing fees. I owed $2 and had to pay $20 for the software - stinks

Good but a couple of problems

I had a couple of issues but everything ended up OK. When going through step-by-step, my refund jumped way up. I determined that TurboTax had inserted a Recovery Rebate Credit so I deleted the form. Then when I went through the return checking process, it reinserted the form but this time it brought up the form and asked me to fill in the stimulus amount that I had received. When filing the SC return, it asked a lot of SC required information about driver's licenses for me and my wife. I have to enter this information every year and I don't know why that can't be picked up from last year's return.

I am very pleased with the updates. Adding a section for the Identity theft pin really was helpful. With this update, I was able to e-file both state and federal returns.
