Trouble This year

I have used TurboTax for over ten years, and I have always had nothing but excellent results. However, this year I have a couple of concerns regarding their software. In the final review, the program kept referring me to fill out the form 8812 completely (I have no use for a form 8812-I do not need child care credits). Additionally, I noted my state return (IN) seemed to be off a bit, so I did a step-by-step recheck and found they had missed the CC-40 College donation form. For Indiana residents, this is a $200 savings that we need to take advantage of. How the software missed it is not something I can answer, but I am glad I did a double-check.

Very easy to use

This year was the easiest by far. The download was quick. I also like that you bounce between step-by-step and form. I called Turbo tax to assist me with a new question and she stayed online with me until the very end. That's Excellent Customer Service!

Why did you change how to enter W-2?

Turbo Tax is wonderful and easy. But this year when manually entering a W-2, there is no tab or enter to move forward to the next field. In years past this was the case. So this year I have to go move the mouse. Yuck :(. Otherwise, all is good.

Turbo Tax makes filing returns quick, easy and gives me confidence our returns are 100% accurate. Love the product. This is now our 10th year using this product.

Federal TAX prep Excellent State not so much

Federal tax prep went very well and without a hitch. State preparation not so well. Could not e-file and was advised to print return and file with the only explanation that because of an entry TurboTax could not e-file the CA return.

Turbo Tax is good

Turbo Tax has an error that during the review process kept changing the charitable donation allowed when using the standard deduction. The IRS allows up to $600 deduction for 2021 for married filing joint return. During review process it kept changing back to $300. I had to override to e-file.
