Failure to Review All Income

After years of use of Turbo Tax Deluxe to process my tax returns, I have been SO disappointed in the product this year. The issue is that the program failed on several levels at prompting questions about income which are highly relavant to the general public and certainly to us. I did not see a prompt inquiring about having 1099-R income nor 1099-SSA both of which have been on lur return in past years. Both of these topics wuld have been explored when asked about other 1099's or such. Not this year. At a point of review I had to go to the topics list and find where I could enter our 1099-R. And unfortunately I did not realize that I had not yet entered our 1099-SSA (Social Security income, until I had already submitted our returns. UHG!! Dang it! While I recognize I could have realized it sooner if I had not become so reliant on filing out our forms by responding to the prompts about each topic. Now I will have to send in an amended return after the returns are processed by the IRS and State of Oregon. Aurgh.

turbo tax good

I have been using turbo tax for six years and have enjoyed using turbo tax. This year had a lot of problems. Live Expert help me work through them. She stayed with me until we found problem and worked them out,

Too many glitches

The desktop app is terrible. It's hard to follow, constantly erases the inputs, having to enter some entries multiple times, in the end still incorrect. Should not have purchase the premium, just deluxe would have been sufficient for my income level. Also, it's supposed to include state tax but requiring additional $20 to e-file which is not cool.
For the most part, the entire app needs an update (UI and usability alike) looks very 90-ish not recent. Do not recommend it to anyone.

HAS SOME ISSUES THIS YEAR

This year there are a couple of issues making the experience frustrating and time consuming until you figure it out. Does not transfer all my 1099-R info (only the first one), so I have to enter each by hand. Does not allow me to enter some of the deductions. I click on the box and it does nothing. It should be pulling up a worksheet to enter each of my entries and then total it for the box entry. I finally found that I had to go to the top EDIT, ADD SUPPORTING DETAILS.
