Turbo Tax frustrating this year.

The last five years it says I can't e-file because of extra income on my W-2. I put in everything correctly as the W-2 comes. This year I moved from one state to another. I made income in both states so I had to purchase the extra state...only to find out that I couldn't e-file again. Then it kept saying I had an error on charitable contributions. I went round in round to the questions filling in the questions and it still gave the error. I looked it up on google but the fix to the error didn't even work. I've used this program since it arrived, but I may look for a different one next year.

I have been a Turbo Tax user since the beginning of time. Taxes have gotten more and more difficult but Turbo Tax has been there to meet the challenge

TurboTax is great for the average person

TurboTax greatly improved its software for 2021. I only found one glich, and I was able to get passed it to continue to E-File.

TurboTax gets worse every year.

I've used TurboTax desktop for the past 3 years and it's gotten progressively worse. This year, the software would freeze whenever I was switching text boxes. I also came across really confusing explanations for what I needed to enter. I had to search for answers online and found in many cases that people had been having the same issues for years with TurboTax and they still had not been corrected.

I have been using TT for a number of years. I have stuck with it as it is all I need to complete my taxes properly and efficiently. Why go elsewhere. I depend on it.

I have some serious doubts

1. While preparing my return married filing jointly, I took the standard deduction. Each time I ran the review, the program would change my charitable contribution to $300 (single filer amount) from $600 (married filing jointly amount). If I had not noticed, it would have cost me $66.00.
2. When filling out the questions for Mortgage Interest Deduction, the questions did not ask for all the correct information and some of the numbers on the form were wrong. When I tried to put the correct information by using the forms, it would not let me change the numbers. I called for help and although my service person tried very hard to help, she could not make the changes. It might have mattered on my state return as California's mortgage deduction is different than the Federal deduction
These two issues give me some serious doubts as to your claim that I am getting my maximum return. Are there other issues I am missing? I will likely NOT use TurboTax next year.
