I've been using turbo tax for 15 years. This year, I keep getting error messages about a duplicate entry on a 1099-R. The fact is I have two identical 1099-R's from the same payer, there is no work around in Turbo, I've tries three times to submit electronically, turbo won't let me even after I re-visited my return to confirm the numbers are correct. Guess I have to use snail mail

Can't get my return to go through.

Everything worked fine until I tried to transmit. The IRS kept refusing it, saying that I had a duplicate 1099R. I didn't hav two of the same one, I had one with my name and social # on it and the other had my Wife's Name and Social # on it, because we both had IRAs that we had cashed in. it just so happened that both were for the same exact amounts. How can I get the IRS to realize this?

Glitches need to be fixed in updates

I've always had good luck with TurboTax being smart enough to populate forms properly. I had to manually correct the amount for allowable charitable contribution allowed for standard deduction as it entered 300 where it should have been 600. Also one of my 1099-R forms was flagged for no street address. I re-entered the PO Box on the form to make it happy. I had entered the PO BOX in the inputs. Two other 1099-Rs from the same entity went through with no flags. Fix your forms. Other than that, TurboTax is still cheaper and less hassle than using a tax preparation service or accountant and beats doing it manually.

finished my taxes. Having problems with South Carolina's state taxes because the forms are not finalized. Turbo tax's web site was less that helpful. I can't seem to get the site to inform me when South Carolina's form will be ready or what else I have to do when the forms are ready to ship.
