State Tax Return Impossible

Trying to do a return for me and my husband, and for my grandson,. bot returns were rejected because they thought that there was a mistake in the entries. Trying to say that there should be a SSN or an EIN for an outside care giver when there was none to report.

Had to go to Support because I was unable to transmit my return. Getting error message . Found out in the forum that RI tax software is not available yet so it would not transmit both Fed & State returns . I was able to send Fed returns . Thank you to the people in the forum . I was really getting upset because the transmission would not go through .

Why do I get charged for Turbo Tax to e-file my State return, when I can e-mail on-line at the State's website for free? Didn't I spend enough for the program already?
Just wondering. Other than that, TurboTax is great to work with.

I've used Turbotax for at least past 5 years. Possibly longer. I tried using H&R Block 1 time, and went back the next year, because Turbotax was much more streamlined flow. I've used the "call the expert", and it was helpful. I've helped all of my family file their taxes with Turbotax also. Highly recommend. Prior to using Turbotax, my wife and her mom did the taxes for several years. Was always a painful, weeks-long "stay out of the way" process, with wife and her mom screaming. Much more peaceful, now ;-)
