Superb Tax Software - Very EZ and Thorough!

TT covers ALL the bases for us! I love the ability to VIEW/FORMS and to go back to the VIEW/STEP-BY-STEP options! I also love the great HELP Quick Tips and the more in-depth explanations when I need them! I also love the option to procure AUDIT DEFENSE. That is very reassuring should I ever need it -- and it is very, very reasonably priced!

After figuring my daughter's taxes, I detest the $25 for e-filing the state taxes and a $40 refund processing fee. I will not purchase your product again. I do not agree that a long terms and conditions needs to be agreed to before submitting a comment for review. I did not even waste my time reading it. Just one more reason to never do business with you again. This from a 20+ year customer.

Still Great, But Reporting Gold Shares Was Awkward

Mostly easy to use and only as intrusive as I guess the law requires. But I purchased some gold shares this year, imported the 1099, and then burned hours trying to figure out why I needed to enter monthly cost basis numbers for the SPDR fund. Eventually created a single summary transaction for the year as suggested by a TurboTax help article.

Disappointed this year

Had a difficult time this year going back and making corrections. Explanations seemed insufficient.
Electronic filing was rejected multiple times because last year's AGI was incorrect according to IRS files. Ended up having to mail hardcopy.
The final printout did not give me the filing address when not making a payment. Had to look it up myself.
I have used TurboTax for several years and, typically I have been pleased. This year, not so much.

TurboTax is Tedious

There were over 500 different screens to deal with to get in all the information. I found at least four times I was reentering information I had already entered that I should not have had to re-enter. One time I was trying to add some additional income that I did not know had to be included as income until much later in the process, and the link to do that was caught in a loop and I was unable do do so from that screen. I had to find out where to go to enter that information, then go back to the income tab and enter the numbers.
