Automatic updates are annoying

Forcing me to update Turbotax is the one thing I hate about this product. I can't seem to bypass this, even if I'm looking at a filed return. At times, I just want to check on something on a past return, and am forced to update the software. A two-minute task turns into a ten-minute task.

Easy to use except when strange things happen

Overall, we like TurboTax. Taxes are never a fun process to begin with, but TurboTax makes it very straightforward. One problem we've had throughout the years is when something out of the ordinary comes up (extension, just to name one), it's difficult to find out what to do and where to look for things. I spend more time on Google than I do on TurboTax's help center. Been using this since age 14, recommended by my tax accountant father, and won't be switching but....also tired of going to Google or calling Dad when anything other than simple W-2's and self-employment occurs.

Reliable Tax Preparation Software

I have used TurboTax for many years. My electronic files go back to 2001, paper files even further back. Never have had an issue with any return.
