2020 TT Premier ..... TT is awesome!

Ive been utilizing TT since the 90's and it has changed over the years improving with my life changes, home ownership sale of home new home business now farming. It is probably the best software for tax purposes on the market.

Turbo Tax is mostly very good

I’ve used Turbo Tax for decades. Turbo Tax walks me through everything one by one so I’m confident I haven't missed anything important. Each time I have a question I can usually figure it out from the information on the screen or by clicking a link. When I can't determine the answer, I have enough info to ask the right question on the internet. This year however Turbo Tax caused 2 frustrating problems. 1. The "On Demand Guidance" help windows use 8 point font. Most courts and lawyers recommend using 12 pt on legal documents. Most people have difficulty with small fonts. If the topic is difficult to understand it is far worse if the words are difficult to read. I could not find anyplace in the program that would allow me to increase the font. If I had low vision I could not have used Turbo Tax at all. 2. One question used incorrect words that caused me to report half of the correct Economic Impact Payment. I had to go back later & correct the quantity. Turbo Tax asked, "Enter your third round payment . . . as it appears on your letter 6475. . . ." We are MFJ and my husband & I each got a letter with $2,100 on it. I entered $2,100 as it appeared on my letter. Then Turbo Tax asked, "If you or [wife's name] got multiple payments . . . enter the total, or 0 if you didn't get a payment." Neither of us received multiple payments. Since the question said OR it wasn't asking for the total of 2 people. I later realized Turbo Tax wanted me to add the amounts from each of our letters together for a total of $4,200. The language is misleading. Misleading is not acceptable for a tax program.

My experience this year was poor. I'm a long time user but this year has been the worst experience. I'm not sure I'll use Turbo Tax next year.

An easy way to complete your tax return until you go to file it. Oh, my gosh! Took longer to complete the filing process than completing the return. I understand the need of for security but, yikes!
