Learned so much from TurboTax

I started using TurboTax years ago after a bad experience with a tax preparer. I have learned a lot about taxes, so now I know what things to keep in mind during the year. I highly recommend it!
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

E File rejected multiple times last year and again this year. Very frustrating. Used TurboTax since 2007, never disappointed until last year and again this year.

Step by Step, pulls "last years numbers", which makes it so simple to follow and compare. This is a fabulous system. I most appreciate the "review" and "check" button. No Worry System!

Gets worse every year with fewer explanations and less clarity. This year was the worst with glitches and errors through the whole process. We will NOT be using Turbotax next year.

1. I was continually frustrated by not having an easy way to go back to check my work. But this is only my second year using Turbotax. Although I guess I was progressing through the interview smoothly, I did not have a "warm fuzzy" about everything being correct.
2. Very disappointed that Turbotax asks for $25 to efile the state return, particularly when there are so many free efile options for state returns, at least in my state.
3. Since I mailed my state return, the directions were not clear on which 1099's needed to be included, stated simply to include any form 1099. Subsequent research indicated that only those 1099's showing tax withholding needed to be included.

Remaining Errors in TTax 2021

While I've filed my taxes for 2021 (Federal and State), I'm still unsatisfied with the errors that remain in the software, namely the Federal Charitable Deduction that adds up correctly in the collection page but is $2.00 short of the previous total when the number is transported over to the Schedule A (and other relevant pages). I've had a ticket opened and closed on this issue, but the error remains.
There is also a bug in the Massachusetts Schedule Y, which says "Gambling losses should not be greater than $." with no value. If this is assumed to be the difference between received 1099's from various Massachusetts-licensed gambling facilities and the offset losses and there were no 1099's received, then the error produced during the Review is, per my reading of the relevant state tax code, inappropriate. If the value is "zero", then state the value is "$0.00".
