Straightforward, easy to use.

We appreciate the basic format of Turbotax (TT). We like how it guides one through everything, asking questions and the back up questions to be certain items match up. We like how we can use it year to year, and how items are remembered. Questions at the get go lead to further information obtained, making TT straightforward for most tax situations. Doing ones taxes prior to the day of also allows one to find all the forms needed, which TT is good at reminding one to get the correct forms.

One thing that is missing that would be helpful for repeat customers is the automatic calculation of carry-over deductions. It is frustrating when a couple like us does not have enough deductions for one year or we are over for the year that the software does not automatically calculate it for me.

Turbo Tax Is Great

I have been using Turbo Tax for well over a decade. However the past several years that I have been purchasing the Turbo Tax software retail, I always have problems downloading the CD which never just starts and prompts for the validation number on its own. It is very discouraging and frustrating so much so I am thinking of switching to another software next year.

Same navigation annoyances as always

I don't care for the navigation of the Turbo Tax interview...just little annoyances. Like:
a) When you finish a section, it returns you to the list of what you have done, but you have to scroll to the bottom to continue.
b) When you revisit a section, it asks you all the same questions (which makes sense), but some are not filled out with the previous answer...particularly if the answer was "none of these" (which is often the case).

Turbo Tax is easy and accurate!!

I have used Turbo Tax to do my own taxes for the last several years and I find it very easy and accurate to use. I was paying an accountant several hundred dollars to do my taxes. Now my taxes cost under $100 with Turbo Tax. My dad suggested I try doing them on my own since I do not have a very complicated return. I was nervous because I have never done them before, but Turbo Tax made me feel confident that I was doing them correctly and getting the maximum refund. I love how Turbo Tax walks you through each step and explains everything!! I also love that Turbo Tax imports the data from my previous year's taxes into my current year so I can compare the numbers. I highly recommend Turbo Tax, it makes doing your taxes easy and accurate!
