Love Turbo Tax!

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. I have worked as a tax preparer, and Turbo Tax is similar to the program that was used by a name brand tax preparation service. I would give it 5 stars but there are hidden cost that appear when to are ready to file your taxes, especially if you are filing two state returns. You have the cost of the program, one state is free, each additional state is $45.00. After completing your returns there is a $25.00 charge to file each state return. So to file a federal return and two state returns comes to a total of $155.00. So just be aware. Free is not free.

Turbo is Great with one exception

This may have not been all Turbo problem but a download from Financial Institution was not accurate has missing info Turbo Tax ignored it. Also when filing multiple states confusing about removing other state files.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2021 version is absolutely horrible

I have used Turbo Tax since 1997! Yes, 24 years and this year was the absolute worst version ever!!! I always purchase Deluxe and did not receive a free state filing; I had to look up the MEANING to many of the questions asked (isnt that WHY we buy this software so you GUIDE us?), and I paid my taxes due online with a card, had them rejected for AGI - which was correct - but I retyped and then tried to refile but turbo tax said I had to pay my taxes AGAIN or it wouldn't try efile!! :( So I printed them - including state because it won't let you split one mail and one efile and i already paid $25 for that state filing!!! THIS YEAR WAS A DEBACLE and this version of the software is beyond frustrating and horrible! You just lost a long term customer.

For some reason the program had me/my wife as a citizen of Puerto Rico??? The final check caught it and I corrected before filling.

TurboTax 2021 Too Much Data Entry

It gets very annoying having to keep entering the same data on different screens, for example, if you owe Fed tax and want to pay by bank, then you fill out your bank info, and at the same time if you are owed a Refund on State, then it asks you in another set of screens to fill out the same information again. Why doesnt the software recognize a refund and payment are required and ask how you want to pay or receive the refund in one screen. Same with importing a prior years tax info....you have to fill in the registration again....
