I have used Turbotax every year since the 90's

This year I did not have any issues, but last year TT said I was eligible for a 1200 tax credit, which the IRS wanted back last November or so, not cool! otherwise I have used it for almost 30 yrs and like it very much.

It seems that you concentrate too heavily on making each topic as intricate and complex as the IRS worksheets they represent. Adding a more simplistic and comprehensive breakdown of what each income and deduction topic actually represents in terms of how it affects our refund or tax due amounts would really help. For example, I have no idea how to figure out how close I am to the standard deduction because your breakdown doesn't tell me what percentage of the figures I'm seeing actually count towards topping that deduction. If I add those numbers up, they are much higher than the standard deduction, but I somehow still have less deductions than the standard deduction. I'm sure your calculations are correct. I just can't figure out how.

TurboTax software is good, but it would be nice when donating stock/mutual fund shares as a charitable contribution that the software would allow the user to specify the verbiage that appears in the 'Method used to determine fair market value' instead of defaulting to 'Comparative Sales', which really makes no sense for this type of contribution.

First time using this company app. Heard good things and decided to try. Using the deluxe program with state filing. Really worked great. Easy to follow instructions, especially liked the check/double check form feature to ensure all way good. Worth the price

Getting the multiple filings was difficult. Luckily I waited until the community had spent the 4 hours getting Turbo Tax folks to figure it out, so it only took me 30 minutes to resolve.
Also, a real pain was Turbo Tax including as taxable income on the work in progress step-by-step, my 401K distribution marked on 1099 as non-taxable (because it was a rollover). Thanks again community for publishing the resolution.
Fortunately, I'm good at filling out the forms directly

Turbotax needs to syc desktop with online

I used online turbotax for a few years and found out the desk version is cheaper. But you can't directly use activation code for desk version in online version.
