Turbo tax is good, but needs refinement

I have been using TurboTax for that last 20 years. You mostly get things right, but you still confuse and aggravate things. I always answer to walk me through everything. Yet every year I am not asked about the alimony I paid. I have to go back and find that section every time. Your okay or next button jumps around the screen. It's a big pain in the butt when I have to go back to a section and make a change near the beginning. Then I need to navigate through the section but I can't click "next" a bunch of times to get through the section to be able to move forward to where I was. No I have to keep moving the mouse a half an inch this way or that to click on the button. When I get through the deductions it tells me the standard deduction is better. Great, that's awesome but what does that mean? Why is it better? Oh after reading the little help; snippets which don't really tell me why I click the next button and then click it again...and then finally I get the window with two bullet points of what the standard deduction would be and what I was claiming when itemizing. Those two bullet points would have been much better if they were two screens earlier. Then we get to the e-file section. 'm presented with a bullet list of how I want to e-file. I click on "the same account as last year" I even expand the full account number to be sure. I click next....and you ask me for the routing number and account number again, right after I clicked on the "use the same account as last year" Okay I think that's okay they need to be sure I'm not a fool and forgot that my accounts have changed. So I dig the info out of my file cabinet and type it in again. Thinking I'm done I put the files away. I get to the how do you want your state refund. I click the bullet to go to the same account as my federal refund. And again the window pops up asking for the routing number and account number,,,,which I just typed in to verify one minute ago. Like I said the program is good, but there are a few refinements that would make it easier. Oops one more. When I'm trying to import my financials I am unable to use the password from my password safe to login. This is the password that is already in my clipboard. Now I have to open the safe program up and manually type in the convoluted password.

Turbo Tax is a great product and a great business

I have used Turbo for more than 10 years I think. It helps me trmendously do my taxes, my sister in law and one of my three kids easily and accurately. I was a Volunteer tax preparer for the city of Elizabeth and prefer it to TaxCut (HR Block)

I don't enjoy using TurboTax. We should be using state-level tax reconciliation systems instead to automatically determine taxes.
