Getting my current year tax program

You REALLY need to come up with better way to notify and transmit the current year tax program. I had a difficult time locating the program for downloading. Since I paid for the program and you have my email address and there is nothing personal on the program, why don't you send it to me in an email?

Completing Federal Income Tax Filing

No problems or challenges completing our Federal Income Taxes for 2021, despite late start and challenges locating many of my necessary forms. One challenge / question concerning non-business bad debt deduction, that I will be able to research and resolve prior to 2022 tax season.

Turbo Tax did not correctly prepare my SC return

Turbo Tax correctly carried over the capital loss on my Federal Return. It did NOT add the loss to my AGI on my SC return, as it should have. The loss was related to CT, so SC does not recognize it. I had to make the adjustment manually. If I didn't know better, I would have had issues with the SC DOR!!!

TurboTax is good product

Does not help clarify unclear 529 College tax law

529 College Saving Plan tax laws are extremely vague. Turbo tax does not help. I had to do significant research to understand and complete correctly what should be a simple procedure to deduct or omit 529 earnings and college expenses. Bottom line: if you follow the steps in Turbo Tax you may end up unnecessarily paying taxes on earnings that should be tax exempt.

Unable to open previous years return

I was filing for 2021 when it asked for my AGI for 2020. No problem I had my last years return on my hard drive. I tried to open it and it would only open using TurboTax 2020. There isn't an excuse for that, a new version of TurboTax should be able to open the previous years tax return with no problem
