Very helpful but not perfect

Overall this product is very helpful, but there are things that could use some help. There are places where the interview forgets the answers I previously provided. There are some interview paths are confusing, and some are repetitious / redundant. The financial institution import features are great. The year to year import features are also great.

Had to work harder to get basic information. Final checks and printing not as smooth. Took unnecessary time to remove child credit form. Duh I am 85 years old.

2012 turbotax Deluxe

I have used Turbo Tax for more years than I can remember. This 2012 product was terrible to install. Installer continued to stop with error message both if started from CD or directly from website. It took 2 phone calls for me to understand that you could not help. The best you did was refer me to a forum website which finally provided a work around in windows that allowed me to finally install. Then the program was unable to transfer my prior year turbotax general info resulting in me having to retype all my info. That also eliminated the comparison on a year to year basis which usually is a big help in completing the current year tax return. In my view that deserves a zero star rating which unsurprisingly your rating input system did not allow me to use.

Upgrading from home to business...

When completing my taxes, it turned out I needed the Home and Business version. I clicked on the link to do that within Turbotax and it wanted me to spend $119.99. I thought that was odd, so I went to Costco to buy the upgraded version. I found it was the same price, so what ever. I went to install it and after I opened the package to get my code, there was an option to pay the additional fee instead of the full $119. Not happy with buying 2 copies and only needing 1 that could have been upgraded if the internal link worked correctly. I have it downloaded to my computer and do not use the online version to being skeptical about security. Poor rating is from this debacle. I have used it for years and have been completely satisfied until now.
