Excellent tool for assisting in organizing and getting the right information into all the forms and boxes. You need to pay close attention though, as some of the import operations from bank and investment institutions created duplicated data that had to be manually found and eliminated. Still a very useful tool.

The AGI pulled from last years return was incorrect. Then it gets rejected but you keep my $25 I had to pay for the state portion.

TurboTax Deluxe is well-worth the money! It's accurate, easy to use, user friendly. Most importantly Intuit stands behind their product. They refunded me the money last year when I couldn't efile my return. I appreciate what they do for their customers. I have used Turbo Tax for more than 20 years. I am willing to recommend it to anybody who wants to do their tax right!

Turbotax is not as helpful as it use to be :(

Turbotax used to walk you through everything in detail, but the new years have cut down on a lot of the questions & specifics making it harder to make sure you are putting all the info in correctly. For example i sell gold coins that are gifted to me each year & I report this & pay taxes when necessary. In the 2018 & 2019 version of turbotax, the software very clearly give me an option to say that it was gifted to me & then it would ask the when item was originally purchased (by the giver), what the gift date & sell date were & finally the sale price, value at the time of the gift & the giver's purchase price. Based on all this information Turbotax 2019 would determine the correct basis (in some cases the basis is the original purchase price & sometimes its the value at the time of the gift). However, in the 2020 & 2021 versions of Turbotax, they have stopped asking all this additional info. I dont have the opportunity to say it was a gift, & as a result I am only asked to input the basis w/o any guidance for determining whether the Fair Market Value at the time of the Gift vs the Giver's Cost Basis is the basis to use. - Note: I used the "Deluxe" version of the 2018, 2019 & 2021 turbotax. for the 2020 version, I used the "premier" version just to see if it would add any additional help. However, even the "premier" version (which is intended to provide additional help w/ investments) did not give any additional help with the gift. -- Very disappointing!!
