TurboTax is Garbage Gold

2nd year in the row where I ran into issues efiling. Very stressful, especially since it has happen twice. Last year I had to uninstall the software and reinstall it to work. This year I couldn't get your site to accept 3 different credit cards for state payment, so I had print it out to mail it. Garbage Gold - it is a term I coined for something that cost way more money than it is worth. After using TurboTax for decades, I am going to try TaxAct - true shame.

THE PROBLEMS i HAD WERE FINDING WHERE TO ENTER MY MORTAGE INTEREST THAT ISN''T PAID THROUGH THE MORTGAGE COMPANY. iT TOOK ONE OF YOUR HELPERS AWHILE TO FIND THE RIGHT THING TO DO. I also have a time share and entering the information for it was unclear. Instructions for entering this information should be clear about entering as a second home which is what support told me but wasn't in the text I was sent.

Turbo tax deluxe? not so Deluxe.
Disappointed in Turbo tax. It did not bring in my information from the previous years. Then I had to pay extra to efile the state return. Very disappointed.

Overall, the best way to file taxes!

What I find most useful is the option to have TurboTax walk me through each section so I don't miss anything. I also appreciate the many explanations that I easily can access as I complete my taxes. I did have two issues that I was able to resolve with work-arounds. First, the software somehow added a tax withholding amount in a form with a non-taxable distribution. I finally had to completely delete that form and re import it to fix the problem. Second, the step-by-step entries for medial deductions froze in several places, so I had to go to the actual form to enter those data. At least I had the form option to use, for which I'm grateful, but it took me some time to discover that using the form (right clicking in the form also allowed me to add supporting details) was the only way to resolve the problem.

Turbo Tax is a fantastic tool for people to take charge of their finances with confidence. The "guide me tools" make it incredibly easy to file your own taxes.
