Double check all your returns

Cannot review this years tax season yet. Last year was NOT good. IRS reviewed my federal return and gave me back an additional $700 that Turbo Tax did not see. Did my son's taxes with Turbo Tax as well. Turbo Tax said he was not eligible for a MN property tax refund. Knowing it was not correct, I entered the same information into the state's website and he WAS eligible for a $1900 property tax refund. Independently verify everything you can.

Worse and Worse

Could not find things. Key example: installment payments request -- had to look it up on IRS.gov. No reason not to have the form. I still don't know why we got letters saying we were sent two $500 advanced child tax credit when we didn't. BTW: DO NOT SELL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION (CA law). Could not download from Merrill, Lynch.

Turbo Tax works fine but a caveat

Ridiculous charge to file electronically using a credit card. Their credit card use feel takes additional money out of our pockets and puts into the pockets of the banks. Such greed and gouging is beyond the pale.

Bait & Switch, charge you extr $25 to efile state

When buying the software, no where do they tell you its another $25 to efile you state taxes. Unlikely I would use them next year.

Turbo Tax Review

What I like about Turbo Tax is that its program allows you to review every field which is very helpful. I am not an accountant and this program allows me to file my taxes every year without problmes.

TT could do a MUCH better job with providing previous years comparisons to understand where changes occurred. Also, much improvement needed in handling of OID data. Just pitiful.
