Clumsy, to put it nicely

Step by step question method for entering a traditional IRA to Roth IRA conversion is not at all straightforward --- it took a lot of time searching for help tips to find out how to do this. I tried to get help by phone, but this failed 3 times. Not good. I'll do my taxes by hand next time.

You need to make the download of charitable expenses into turbotax easier. Password requirement is difficult.

A couple of problems

I have used TurboTax for almost as many years as it has been out. This year I ran into 2 problems: It did not ask for federal estimated taxes for 2022 even though I have filed estimated taxes for several years. And it would not let me file for a a foreign tax credit, but rather insisted that I check the box for a deduction instead even though I only qualified for the standard deduction.

Not the same this year...

I've been using TurboTax for 20 years and overall, I've been really happy. However, TurboTax was not the same this year for a variety of reasons: questions in several sections are written for CPA's - not everyday people, in two sections TurboTax would run in a loop and keep referring to old information that was edited and saved new, navigation is not user-friendly. If you want to edit even basic information, you have to go through the entire section just to find one line item which is very time consuming. TurboTax has all my information from last year's tax forms. However, it prompted me several times to add this information and even go back to last year's return and confirm what numbers were provided! This year, I had to fill out a new form which TurboTax had all the required information in my return. It simply didn't have enough horsepower to generate the form itself. All in all, not the same this year which was really disappointing.

I've been using TT since the late 90's, not because it's great, but because there is really no alternative. That's probably why Intuit hasn't changed the UX since they. Same old clunky, slow workflow. Just awful. They're probably spending the money on lobbying to keep the tax code super complicated.
