Turbo Tax is a rip off and very difficult to use

You told me the cost of state filing was $20, and I was charged $26. Turbo tax no longer transfers from prior years as easily as before. You did not allow the $600 charity tax deduction. And there were questions regarding the 1099R that were never asked prior to this year and were not on the form

Nearly perfect

It is a relief to use TurboTax for K-1 etc. Noted that after completing the state return, even though ended up with a large refund because of pass-through payments, the program still spit out an Underpayment of Tax form. I had to go back in and change it. Also difficult to update when we decided to have Direct Deposit.

Disappointed in a change in Turbo Tax for 2021

I have used turbo tax for years and I would highly recommend it due its simplicity. I was disappointed this year to learn there was a $25 fee to e-file my state return after already paying for the Deluxe version of Turbo Tax! I instead opted to print and mail it which was an added inconvenience.

Need better directions for 529s

Was always confused with 529 distributions and scholarship awarding and turbo tax had my daughter filing as a single student, paying 5000 in taxes on a 26000 scholarship. I had to dig deep in the community to find the answers. Of course it was AFTER I consulted the tax help and am not sure how much they are charging for that - the CPA could not tell me the charge either and could only offer partial advice of try filing with claiming her and then not claiming her.

Turbo Tax is a very good guide

Great program but I was unable to develop the Form 6505. Instructions are insufficient or gets me in a loop. It is expecting lot more data than provided on the RMD form, especially for the added sum above RMD converted to ROTH Ira. I will need to print the form out and mail it as I can't complete the Form 6505.
Pros: My employment status changed this year
