Was in love...now more "like"

For YEARS I have relied upon, preferred and recommended Turbo Tax especially for your step by step option and also the help feature. This year, the help feature was lacking. The help feature was bringing up the topic, but I couldn't easily access the item within my form AND the help feature would provide instructions that were not available. (ie instructions said, type in search " the item" click jump to....jump to would not come up for me) It was very frustrating.

Not as good as last year!

Several issues were encountered while filling out forms and recording information. I was very frustrated with the on-line help offered and the "catch 22's" I faced in trying to get my returned filed on-line. MAYBE next year?
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax 2021 Did Not Meet Expectations

Everything seemed to be going fine until I got to the e-filing. I had an issue with the program saying that on one of my W-2's I could not use the Employer Name as given. No reason given. My employer uses an outside company for the handling of payroll, issuing W-2s, etc. My W-2 has had the same employer name and EIN (which is that of the outside company) for at least 10 years. No guidance as to why this employer name could not be used or how to fix it. I did not know if changing the employer name also meant changing the EIN #, because my employer has a different EIN #. Could I even legally change what was on the original W-2? So there was no way to get around it and I ended up having to mail my tax forms. Stressful and time consuming, as if filing taxes isn't already. This was not the only issue I encountered, but was the one that caused issues with e-filing.
