TTax kept freezing several times when filing UT

When filling the state return for UT Turbo Tax kept freezing. After searching through the help I noticed a pattern of several users needed to run the update. Each time when I start TT it always checks for updates. I shut TT down via Task Manger and restarted it and forced it to attempt to update. It found no updates. However, after doing what I just said above the application did NOT freeze and was finally able to complete filing. I've used TT Business and Deluxe for at least the last ten years and I've notice with each passing year the products are becoming more difficult to use and at time very frustrating.

Following instructions for e-file federal but mail state causes extra about 50+ unneeded pages to be printed (beyond what is needed to send + copy of both for my files).

The Live Expert was patient and polite. She was not familiar with Mac, but she hung on the line until I got the needed update, which took 27 minutes to figure out. As I attempted to file my taxes electronically, your software says an updated version needs to be installed "go to the online menu and select check for updates". but that is not how you update the desktop version of turbotax for a Mac, in fact there is no "check for updates". you need to re-install it by logging in. the software should do a better job directing the user. additionally, I entered in some student loan information, and the program would not allow me to return to the page to correct the figure. and finally, as I was filing my returns, the software said the state e-filing was $20, and then I got charged $25. Not a real great TT experience.
