Easy Peasy w/ Turbo Tax

Easy step by step notices while you us it. It always reminds you to save your work so far and updates the IRS changes every restart of your working on it. Keeps you on track to the very end. Turbo does all the Mathematics and checking & re-checking. It uploads all of last years basic info, so all you have to do is recheck. Have been using Turbo for many, many years. I was hooked the very first year.

Awful small text

The skinny window of this app take up approx 20% of my available screen size on my Mac. There's no way to expand the window or increase font size for readability. ("Command +" doesn't work either). I struggle to read, but it's especially bad in the homestretch when there's still 25% left to complete. How many years is it going to take for TurboTax to fix their interface?

No surprises-comprehensive-straightforward

I have used TT successfully for many years, and it continues to make it easy to do my own taxes. For me, 99% of the work in filing taxes is related to collecting and organizing records for different parts of the filing process: income and deductions for both state and federal taxes. TurboTax keeps this process systematic and organized. Saving a pdf of all forms gives me all the supporting details I need for any form. This year was particularly involved, with retirement, moving, and sale of principle residence. TT handled state and federal taxes. Helps when I have kept good records, and using TT teaches me what to have on hand for the next year.

state tax

actually, i like this program but think it is way too expensive to just file federal tax and not state tax. I have to file my state tax thru the mail. I thought as many years that i have gotten this program that i had both forms for free.
