Disappointed with the size and control panel
on August 17, 2023

I wanted to buy GE because of the good reviews about the brand. The refrigerator I purchased ended up being considerably smaller than my previous appliance in the exact same space. I’m truly disappointed. I also encountered a problem with the control panel located above the ice maker, it beeps randomly and will not stop (regardless of temperature settings) until I unplug it. If my kitchen space allowed for a larger refrigerator I would return this one for a different GE model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on your new GE Appliances french-door refrigerator. We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your refrigerator due to the size and the reoccurring beeping from the control panel. We're happy to provide some guidance.

Fault codes are programmed in many electronic refrigerator dispenser controls. These error, fault and function codes help GE Appliances service technicians quickly diagnose issues with the refrigerator. A flashing green error, fault or function code will be displayed on the control panel when a failure has been detected. This will be accompanied by a beep.

Below, we have listed the most common refrigerator error, fault and function codes and their definitions. Not all codes are listed below since they cannot be resolved without a technician.

- FF Check frozen food for thawing because the temperature is rising too high.
- PF The power to the refrigerator has been interrupted.
- CI Check the icemaker for proper operation.
- DE Demo mode. This mode enables normal light and controls functionality while disabling the cooling system. To deactivate the Demo mode, first try unplugging the refrigerator from power for a minute or two, then plug back in. If DE code is still displayed, please Contact Us with the model number of your refrigerator.
- dE The defrost system has not operated properly in the last 24 hours.
- CC Check the temperature controls because the temperature for the refrigerator is incorrect.

Normal Operation Codes for Refrigerators- The following may appear to be fault codes, but are normal:

- tC: If the temperature display shows a tC (could look like an EC, an upside down F with a C or something similar), this is not an error code, it is the Turbo Cool (tC) setting indicator.
- tF: If the temperature display shows a tF (could look like an EF, an upside down F with an F or something similar), this is not an error code, it is the Turbo Freeze (tF) setting indicator.

Before calling service, sometimes disconnecting power to the refrigerator for 30 seconds will clear the fault, error or function code. However, there are some cases when service may be required. For service, please schedule an appointment with our factory service team by calling the Service Department directly at 1-800-432-2737, or by scheduling online at the following link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.h

Thank you for your review, and for choosing GE Appliances for your home!

Down sized to this fridge. Miss the extra ice since this one is small but that is to be expected.

Great frig

I have only had this refrigerator for about two weeks, but the way it is set up is really handy. The ice maker in the door is a great idea. I had a French door before, and almost the entire upper shelf was taken up by the ice maker. This one runs a lot more than our old one, but I have heard that it is because of the constant defrost. Overall it seems to be a great refrigerator.

The ice ain’t so nice.

The only issue we have is the door ice dispenser. If we use anything other than a glass, ice ends up all over the floor. Every. Single. Time. Water bottles, coffee containers, etc. get about half the amount of ice that comes out. The floor gets the rest. You can’t just open the door and reach in and get ice either. It’s a process to get to the ice, involving opening a small compartment and pulling the ice bucket out completely.
Other than the ice issues, we love the refrigerator and all the ways you can change the shelving and drawers to fit what you need. The freezer works phenomenally.

GE Gives us the Refrigerator We needed !

We were fortunate to locate this GE 33 inch width counter depth refrigerator model given our size limitation in our new smaller kitchen. We are happy with this model with its desired features except for the noticeable less ice cube production barely enough for the two of us, not sure why ?!?
I would recommend this to a friend!
