This fridge is NOT nearly as sturdy or well built, as the 2009 version I had to replace (because no one repairs anything 10 yrs+ old), as I think most currently manufactured products are being turned out...sad, but true!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Some items freezing in top of fridge

The fridge looks nice, but I am having a problem with some foods freezing in the refrigerator. In all fairness, I have not yet been able to speak with their customer service to find out if there is a fix. The fridge is set at their recommended setting, 37 degrees. I will be happy to issue a retraction of this review if the problem can be rectified.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointment

This model is extremely noisy, and I mean extremely. In addition, the doors require the strength of Hercules to open and shut. The inside layout leaves much to be desired in terms of spacing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write about your refrigerator. Our apologies to hear that it is noisy and hard to open and close. It's understandable how annoying that must be. When you open the fresh food or freezer door or drawer on your refrigerator, warm air rushes inside. When you close the door or drawer, all the warm air rushes to the evaporator, which in turn creates a vacuum. If you close one of the doors but then need to open one again right away, the vacuum makes the doors hard to open for about 10 to 15 seconds after closing. Once the air equalizes, the door or drawer will open as normal again.
If your doors or drawers are always hard to open:
Try rubbing paraffin wax or petroleum jelly along the edges of the entire gasket. Paraffin wax is used for canning and is safe for use around food.
Do not use candle wax as it may contain chemicals that are not safe for use around food.

Good quality but tiny freezer

I love the refridgeratated section but the freezer is tiny and likely could be much deeper had the back of the refridgerator been structured differently. I live in a townhouse so I had limited options to fit the space in my kitchen. It was basically between this GE and a Kitchenaid model as no LG model was narrow enough to fit my space. I'd also prefer if the drawers were made of a sturdier plastic/material. Othewise, very happy with my new refridgerator.

Shelves are not as deep as my older fridge, water dispenser is on the inside wall was no a water bottle doesn’t fit under the spout plus you have to push a button so it rushes 2 hands…very poor design Freezer basket is small. Ugh!
