Newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators. Modern refrigerators have more features and use newer technology. The new high efficiency compressors run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating.

Classic looking Style

Just installed today, waiting for it to cool before adding food inside. This is a replacement for my older GE that stopped working last Sunday. The style and appearance are nice. It is quiet and I like that the ice maker is in the freezer allowing for more door shelves.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Noisy

Very loud humming sound when refrigerator is cooling which is after nearly every time you open the door. Product looks great but the noise is extremely disturbing. Also, very small freezer space.

Hi - Thank you for having purchased this beautiful GE refrigerator. We hate to hear you feel the refrigerator is very noisy and that the freezer compartment is very small. The refrigerators manufactured today run for longer periods of time to ensure proper internal temperatures. The good news is this design actually creates a more energy efficient unit as more energy is consumed during the start-up of the compressor as opposed to actual run time. This whole process is a bunch of CRAP. If you don’t say something nice they will not put online. WELL. This refrigerator is beautiful. We wanted to downsize ( but not to a college beer refrigerator) so we thought it was perfect. It fits into our kitchen so we wouldn’t have to do modifications. Does not work…parts are not available…what more do you need to know…OH. Buy the way….we waited for this appliance for 1 year, 4 months and a week…are our expectations to high to expect it to work for more than 3 weeks?

Annoying whine

This refrigerator looks great and fits perfectly in my small row house. I was initially excited to get it, but after a few hours, I realized what I thought was a distant car alarm was a high-pitched whine coming from the unit. This is incessant and unbearably annoying. It also makes a loud hum in general. I did some online research and found that this is a known problem. I've called for service, so I may be able to be fixed, but that means I need to set aside another day to take off work for repair. I will send it back if it can't be repaired. I

I am not really liking this refrigerator. When the motor/compressor is running it's much louder than my old LG refrigerator and it runs approx 20 to 25 mins every 60 to 70 minutes. I was thinking of calling for service but your information materials indicate this run time is normal AND your sound recordings seem to indicate the loudness may be normal as well. As for the functionality, my responsibility for choosing t he French door model, the side by side worked much better for me. I've bought Monogram and Profile in the past and will continue to purchase GE appliances in the future, I'm just not liking this fridge.

So very loud and small.

I have never felt like I made a bad purchase because I put a lot of research into my purchases. The GE name has been good thru the yrs but the main complaints for this fridge are NOISE, very small crispers and freezer. Constant loud noise, I don't know how they can even sell the product with a good conscience. We are in our middle 70s and have to keep a lot of our produce and frozen foods downstairs now. Not good idea for old folks. We don't have a large space for our fridge, or we could have bought something larger. I would have bought the old style with the freezer at the top, had I known how much we would hate this one. Hate is a strong word these Christians don't use much. Please don't buy this model.

I purchased the above refrigerator in Feb 2023 It HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY SINCE> THE REFRIGERATOR HAS FROZEN PRODUCE AND EGGS. I RETURN FROM A VACTION AND FOUND REFRIGERATOR WARM PRODUCE DRAWERS FULL OF WATER AND FREEZER FROZEN SHUT> I HAVE HAD THREE SERVICE CALLS> I MONITOR THE TEMPERATURE OF BOTH FREEZER AND REFRIGERATOR AND IT FLUCTUATES BEYOND SAFE FOOD TEMPERATURES. THE REFRIGERATOR RUNS CONSTANTLY. I HAVE DOCUMENTED THE DOOR ALARM GOING OFF WHEN ALL THE DOORS ARE SHUT> THIS PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE AND I AM DEMANDING A REPLACEMENT OR A REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE> I CANNOT PROPERLY FEED MY FAMILY ON A REGULAR BASIS THIS IS NOW BECOMING A QUALITY OF LIFE ISSUE. I REQUEST THAT THE PRODUCT BE REPLACED OR REFUND OF PURCHASE.
