Water filter replacement sucks!!!

Refrigerator is okay, but trying to replace the water filter with the same model ( GE XWFE) that corresponds to the refrigerator and keep getting an ERR msg.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Side by Side Refrigerator

We purchased this GE refrigerator to replace a 36 year old GE refrigerator that still had a working Ice Maker and a cold refrigerator & freezer!! The only repair ever made to the old refrigerator was to replace a defrost timer. We hope the new refrigerator lasts as long!!
We chose this side by side refrigerator because the ice container is in the freezer rather than the door, the LED lights illuminate the appliance so well, the controls on the door make it easy to monitor the fridge, the clear shelves make it easy to see everything in the fridge and the abundance of door shelves in the freezer & refrigerator doors. We did purchase one additional larger refrigerator door shelf for extra storage.
We chose this side by side refrigerator because the ice container is in the freezer rather than the door, the LED lights illuminate the appliance so well, the controls on the door make it easy to monitor the fridge, the clear shelves make it easy to see everything in the fridge and the abundance of door shelves in the freezer & refrigerator doors.
