Looks Nice but Poor Performance

I purchased this GSS25GSHCSS GE side by side and expected three things, keep the food cold, make a decent amount of ice and be reasonably quiet. This fridge fails on 2 of 3 items, it only makes ice at the rate of 7 cubes every 2 hours and the is evaporator fan is very noisy. I called GE service 2 days after installation and the GE service rep came out and said the noisy evaporator fan was normal and confirmed that the low rate of ice production is also 'normal'.
We live in Phoenix and naturally our family of 3 drinks a lot of iced tea and iced water. A typical 24oz glass takes 14 cubes to fill half way and about 28 cubes for a full glass of ice, so one full glass of ice is 8 hours worth of ice production from this very weak performing fridge. Never had this lack of ice problem with our previous side by side made by a company that rhymes with cool.
The very large ice container is a joke because the ice maker can never fill it up, on the plus side, the ice container has room to empty a full bag of store bought ice which we need to purchase every third day.
If you want very little ice production and a noisy refrigerator, by all means get this GE fridge. I am awaiting the big orange box store folks to pickup this fridge for a return and purchase a different brand. I thought GE stood for Great Engineering, I guess not so any more. :-(

Prepare to live without ice or buy bagged ice

The refrigerator side is amazingly cold - too cold since the vegetables, sour cream and chopped garlic all froze. Meanwhile, the freezer is set at 0 degrees and yet it makes only about 10 ice cubes a day. GE says it makes 4 pounds but that's malarkey. Most I've ever gotten out of the icemaker dispenser was 2 cups of ice. Frustrating! And ridiculous performance in 2016. We're now buying bagged ice. The appliance is also made in Mexico. Thanks, GE.

My old fridge died New Years Day so I hurried out for a replacement. I like the features of this model, especially the 10 lb ice storage, but it is very NOISY. You can hear it running always and the ice maker is especially noisy. I hate it and regret my purchase.

Not the Best!

Items in the refrigerator section "freeze" (turn icy). We have raised the temperature, but the condition has not been correcter. Also, at times the appliance sounds like the running of an airplane engine.

Good Capacity and Cools Well..but

Love the look and feel. And this is a very modern and sleek applaince that has a bowed out front to create and curved feel and allow for additional capacity in the interior. BUT- the drawers tend to stick and are flimsy. ALso note that the front will scratch very very easily. I scratched it just moving a magnet.... Net this is NOT a kid friendly refrigerator. I would recommend this for empty nesters, singles. In the meantime I will look for a dark gray permanent marker to fix scratch

A huge disappointment!

I bought this refrigerator about 1-1/2 ago. I loved the sturdy shelves, the drawers, the size however, the design is absolutely awful. Fir a high light right at the top and is so large it blocks precious space needed for taller items, the large vents on both shelves take precious space. If items are placed too close but not even blocking everything freezes. I am so disheartened and disspponted .
I will never buy any GE product again.

Extremely noisy

This refrigerator is VERY VERY noisy. We can hear it on the second floor and it was just installed last week! Everything else is fine (so far) but when the refrigerator is the topic at dinner due to the noise is making makes you regret you bought it!
