We just purchased thos appliance and it takes forever to make ice or to dispense water. Today the ice maker has already stopped working and summer hasn't even begun and only 2 family members dispense ice for their drinks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We will see how long it lasts! Our previous GE sxs (which was the same design only lasted 9 years before the water and ice systems gave us problems. Had the water reservoir replaced three times and the water valve replaced once. I got tired of the repair bills so I bought a new one!

While we hate to hear that you’re not a fan of side-by-side refrigerators, we’re happy that this model has made a good second unit for you. The LED lighting in this model does a great job of illuminating the interior, and the clear door shelves can hold even large containers with ease.

We downsized on cubic feet but still have plenty of storage. The control panel is very easy to use and convenient. The ice maker is huge which is great. We shouldn't run out of ice while entertaining.
