This model refrigerator makes a lot of weird noises. Yes, they hand you an owners manual mentioning that you will hear these noises that are perfectly normal...
each noise has it's own meaning. I can hear it in the middle of the night...creepy!

The ability to place taller items on shelves is very restricted and the space on the doors limited on width.

Not very flexible storage space

First, the refrigerator looks pretty and it works well. The downside is that if you are a family who has a gallon of milk, a carton of OJ and then a pitcher of juice then the refrigerator can't store that many tall items. The real issue is the shelves are not very flexible on the inside, so you can't fit anything tall on them (not even ketchup, salad dressing, etc.). Our older refrigerator that we emptied out to fill this one held more and cost a fraction of the price.
I'd have expected better storage options for a refrigerator in this price range.
Another minor annoyance is the casters are not height-adjustable. So you have to crank a foot down, which then makes it much more work to slide the refrigerator out for service. (Again, something that GE should have thought about better for an appliance that is this expensive.)
Attached is a picture of when we moved everything over to the new fridge and the pitcher of juice just wouldn't fit.

SMART DESIGN, QUIET

Beautiful design features -- modern handles. Solid, smooth door closure on all 3 doors (French door model). Quiet, hush-tone when motor on. Large capacity for a smaller (21 cu ft) model. Excellent fresh food storage and lighting design allowing for easy use and access to foods stored.

This refrigerator fits the kitchen beautifully! The lighting is great, there's lots of room in the doors, and the drawers are also deep and roomy. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because in order to pull out the shelves for adjustment, both doors have to be wide open. Our fridge is in the corner of the kitchen, so only one door is able to be opened wide. To pull out and adjust the shelves, I have to pull out the entire fridge. All 3 shelves are full (there isn't a split shelf). If your fridge is going in a corner, I suggest you decide how you want the shelves positioned before pushing the fridge back and filling the shelves up. It's not the 'end of the world'! Also, we didn't hook up the ice maker, so we have a little more room in the top drawer of the freezer. The fridge is very quiet, too!

I am elderly and suffer from severe back pain. It is great to have the shelves at eye level. The pull out drawers in the freezer make it easy to use as well. The shelves and drawers are deep from front to back, so there is lots of room for "stuff". May compare with the Coldspot refrigerator I had that lasted for 35 years, if this one lasts that long! I love it.

Storage options galore

The ability to easily adjust the storage shelves and dividers is great for when your weekly shopping purchases significantly vary in size and shape. Sounds funny to say but you never know how nice a feature the ice-maker is until you have one.

Very disappointed, shelf layout unsatisfactory. Keeps freezing food in refrigerator. Freezer holds less than my old top door refrigerator.
