Just installed this today and so far so good. At first the water dispenser kept dripping but seems to have stopped now. It quickly cooled down and started making ice. It's quiet. I'm surprised at how much stuff it will hold, more space than I anticipated.

This is our first French door style Refrigerator and we really like it ! The size is just right for my wife and I . Also this is the first indoor ice and water dispenser we have had , and it works out great ! Make plenty of ice and I like the crushed ice and my wife likes the cubed. This unit does exactly what it is designed to do and does it well ! The slate finish is the best ! Thank You GE !

Hoped for better

We purchased our GE refrigerator "GFE24JSKSS" about 2 weeks ago. When we originally looked at it, we liked the size and style right away. It is just the perfect size for our kitchen. Once it was delivered and we set it up we were disappointed by several things. The first thing I noticed while unpacking the shelving and drawers was that they seemed really flimsy and cheap. The dividers for the freezer and the wide drawer are so flimsy they don't stay in place very well. Also the fruit and veggie drawers now make this loud squeaky noise that is really annoying every time they are opened. I do like the fact that the inside lights are LED.
As far as the outside panel on the fridge goes, I like the fact that we have crushed ice, something I really missed with our previous fridge. The things I don't like about the panel are 1. If you accidentally touch the Freezer, or Refrigerator labels on the panel you wind up changing the temperature up on them. So that can be a problem if you have children or just anyone touching the panel in the wrong area. You can turn the lock on, but then the water, ice and other functions are also locked. 2. You also have to have the light from the panel either on or off. On our previous fridge there was an auto setting that you could set so that it only came on when the room was dark. It was nice to use as a nightlight feature. 3. The water line seems too narrow. Whenever we use the water function on the panel we hear a big thunking sound which makes me think something is wrong.
Overall we are somewhat satisfied with the fridge. Just wish we had better drawers and shelves. The other issues are annoying but we can probably live with those.I guess as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". We could have spent more money and gotten a better product.
