Great futures.

Ice maker keeps up. Able to put extra ice down in the bottom freezer for back up ice when having company over. I am not regretting getting this refrigerator. Plenty of room in refrigerator and added door shelves for milk and other condiments
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sleek design!

This fridge far exceeded my expectations. It has a pitcher-sized opening for water/ice. Super quiet operation. It’s very sleek looking. And it has easy gliding bins. Very happy with it.

Bad Choice

This unit’s top, bottom freezer, and shelves are so inadequate on so many different levels. We wish we could have had real world examples like milk, eggs, and other refrigerated items to see what we know now.

This is more like it!

Our old refrigerator's compressor died (just 9 years old), not reasonably repairable. So we leaped into action. Quick research. It was during the COVID-19 pandemic and very little was available. We figured whatever we found would be "Plan B or C". On an off chance we stopped at a very nice appliance store, described the requirements. We were handed a description sheet for this model. It was available "right now", was made in the USA, and reviews were pretty good. We never saw it in person; we only had the description sheet, it seemed to have the flexibility we needed and since it was one of 2 left in the warehouse. We leaped and got it.
When it arrived it was a complete wow: the french doors had a truly solid close (unlike sooo many others) and stayed close; visibility was good, the shelves could be straight across or staggered and they weren't flimsy. Drawers were rigid plastic, but that was fine, the pulls were heavier material. The veggie/fruit drawers have separate settings and feel like they do. The freezer is good size and there is a sliding top drawer. This refrigerator is more like what we originally wanted in a refrigerator and ultimately failed to get. Given that it's GE and made in the US and has everything we want, we feel very lucky to have found this model. Time of course will tell, but we look forward to a happy, satisfied partnership with it.

Ok, but noisy so far - waiting for fan replacement
on December 16, 2020

The refrigerator works well and does its job. The ice maker and water are good. From the moment it was plugged in, a fan has been making noise and a couple times a day another fan turns on and is very loud. I have contacted support for warranty work, but they indicate the parts are on backorder so it may be a while (and that is only for 1 fan - they will still need to determine where the other fan noise is coming from when they replace that one).
Basically, good refrigerator, but for the cost I would not have anticipated immediate repair work. I would have sent it back, but these were not "defects" so return was not an option.
I will update my rating if they get it fixed. I am at the mercy of GE support and hoping for the best at this point.

Hi, Thanks for choosing a GE refrigerator for your home! We are sorry to hear of the screeching noise. On new refrigerators, it's not unusual for the door to squeak. This occurs because the gasket (rubber material around inner perimeter of the door) is sealing very tightly. If the noise becomes bothersome, try rubbing paraffin wax or petroleum jelly on the gasket. This noise will stop in a few days once the gasket becomes more pliable. This is a normal occurrence and does not indicate a problem with your refrigerator.

If this suggestion doesn't resolve the screeching noise, we encourage you take advantage of the warranty by calling GE Service at 1-800-432-2737 or scheduling service online at: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

We hope this helps! - Sharon@GEA

Inoperative unit - even GE's own tech can't fix
on September 13, 2021

Our water dispenser and ice-maker do not work in our brand new unit. The installers couldn't get it to work (and yes, water is getting to the unit). GE sent out a technician, who has now been to our condo twice with 2 new parts. Still cannot get it fixed. GE tech has ordered a THIRD part which will not come in till 2 months after our purchase, and he would not tell me with certainty that this until will get fixed. We are trying to get a replacement unit. But honestly, if you're looking for a fridge, stay away from this unit. Right out of the box it doesn't work and getting it to work required a lot of fighting.

No ice or Water
on September 14, 2021
Posted by: NitaG
I purchased this refrigerator in 2019 because it was the perfect size to fit into my space. Now 26 months later the ice and water dispensers have quit. The GE technician has been out 5 times and replace the water tank, valve, the filter holder and the door. It is still not working. The water line has been checked twice by a plumber. The water is not getting to the ice maker or water dispenser. Sometimes my milk freezes.
