Hi - We hate to hear you are disappointed in the sound level of your lovely new refrigerator. The foam insulation used in our new models has excellent insulating capabilities and is very energy efficient however it is not as sound absorbent as previously used fiberglass insulation. Additionally, hard surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl or hard wood floors, walls and kitchen cabinets may make these normal operating sounds more noticeable. As a result, certain sounds may be unfamiliar on a new refrigerator at first. These sounds are normal and are usually an indication that the refrigerator is operating properly.

When we had our kitchen remodeled three years ago and bought this refrigerator but only 18 cubic feet and when we sold our home I ordered the same refrigerator but only bigger. All my appliances except dishwasher are GE

We love the features, especially the ice maker and the water on the door. Also the

The refrigerator does a good job of keeping things cold. Even ice cream is kept hard. As far as being able to organize items inside it is horrible. It is a very poorly design in the use of storage space. This includes the door shelves, and the glass shelves in the main compartment. If the interior shelves are arranged to accommodate tall the items like milk jugs and pop bottles the others are only good for sandwich meat slices or bacon. They are to close together. One other thing there is no butter storage area
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The new refrigerator behaves exactly as I expected it to behave. It fits in the space for which it was purchased and does what refrigerators are supposed to do. I had to replace an 8 year old refrigerator and I expect this one to last much longer.

GE Fridge Good and Not So Good

Overall okay. It looks very nice. Great space in fridge area, freezer is smaller than expected and does not hold as much as expected. Some of the holders on the doors are so small in depth that very few of my items fit in them. The fridge is VERY noisy. Sometimes it sounds as if it is going to take off or explode. It runs all the time even when the freezer and fridge are completely full. I thought, at first, it was just because it was only a day or 2 old and thought it would let up, but no - it runs and runs. I will wait to pass judgement on this until my first electric bill comes. The ice dispenser throws ice on the floor if I do not hold the container all the way up to the very top where the ice comes out of the dispenser. The crushed ice is even worse and I no longer even attempt to use this feature. The water dispenser is fine. I have GE appliances - stove and microwave. This is the first time I have been disappointed in the quality of a GE product. With the noise and running, I am certainly glad we bought the extended warranty!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For refrigerators and freezers to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run much of the time. Refrigerators and freezers have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time. This makes them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is actually running. Some very nice features

Water & ice dispenser on outside appreciated, also general appearance of stainless steel. Long drawer for cheeses/snacks, etc. very useful! Glad to have bottom freezer but limited space in it. Doors have limited space for items, especially tall milk jug, juices, etc. 1/2 shelf helps but working on arrangement of all. Was a bit surprised no container for eggs, but I kept my old one so that’s helpful. Overall pleased.
