Great Features

It is the perfect size for our custom cabinets we recently remodeled. It has quite a large capacity, both the fridge/freezer. I especially enjoy having chilled water from the dispenser.

Love the increased capacity over my old fridge. Freezer design is efficient but I wish that the meat/cheese draw were two separate draws so I wouldn’t have to open both doors to access either side.

Easy to access

We had previously purchased a GE refrigerator that we really liked. It stayed in a home we sold. When we purchased the home we have now we didn’t like the refrigerator that came with it. We purchased a new GE with the same features as the one in our previous home just a different size.

Only a few months with it, but with no trouble yet I can say that it’s a pleasure to use. The icemaker has kept up with demand, filling 7 or 8 20oz mugs daily. The ice crusher doesn’t make uniformly-sized restaurant ice fragments but it is adequate. The freezer drawer, when loaded, squeals a bit on the way out and in, I hope that isn’t a sign of trouble ahead. Noise level is ok, temperature levels are great. Main glass shelves are smartly adjustable but the door shelves have low capacity; one shelf can take a gallon of milk and then another half gallon or two-liter bottle, but the other 5 door shelves are very limited in the heights and numbers of bottles they can hold. One shelf will hold nothing but 4 mini hot sauce-sized bottles. Part of this is to accommodate the icemaker and chamber which is wholly contained within one door. I wish the other door had some better vertical shelf adjustability, as several bottles that fit in my old fridge door now must lay flat on a glass shelf. But that is an annoyance I can live with. Overall with the space, the ice, the consistent low temps, I’m happy with it.

Perfect installation but no fault of GE leaks.

The installation was letter perfect but water was all over the base of the refrigerator after installers left. Cleaned up and has been totally dry ever since for second day but am watching carefully.
What was it?
When GE manufacturers appliances obviously they must test them before shipping. On a refrigerator the water valves are tested and this water leads via plastic lines to the ice maker and fresh water supply in door. Once okayed via GE’s inspection the item is shipped. Then during installation the plastic water lines inside any refrigerators naturally drain like they should and water hits the floor around and under the base.
It is the same for dishwashers from all manufacturers obviously. They are ALL are tested while being built.
What to do?
Clean up and wait.
What I’m doing and suggesting is that this natural leak information be included in all manuals from GE for refrigerators and dishwashers.
We can’t fight gravity.
Just a concrete idea and perfect solution that helps the innocent recipients of all our complaints.
No I don’t work for GE but was in US Army 30+ years.
Sidebar complaint: lots of scratches on right side and right side’s top. But I can live with this as you’ll never see.

Great features but somewhat noisy for a new fridge

I love my new fridge for the features, space and lighting. It is noisier than any other new fridge I've heard - the general humming and the clunking of ice cubes and water intake mechanism. I'll get used to ice cubes falling on the floor and have trying to adjust my pattern as the instruction manual says. All in all, a great product.
