The interior shelves have no center support. The refrigerator is noisy. It makes an intermittent humming sound which tends to be annoying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Welcome to our GE Appliance family! We will forward your feedback but the interior shelves are half width shelves that attach to the rear wall in the middle. If you are referring to the cover over the vegetable bins then you are correct that there is not center support. We appreciate this feedback. Here is some information about what noises to expect with your refrigerator. This GE Refrigerator has nice space for food storage. It has places on the inside for all your vegetable, cold cuts and shelving to sit cakes, bowls and drinks on
