Great unit love the ice maker in the door freeing up shelf space where most ice makers are located. The bottom freezer is much easier to use than our old side by side. The electronic controls on front are perfect for the 21st century.

The perfect unit for our needs

We were limited to a 33" unit by our counter setup. We looked for weeks at different models/brands and all of them had some significant drawback. We wanted an ice AND water dispenser in the door and needed a reasonable amount of freezer space. To our surprise we could not find this configuration anywhere. The other brands/models that met this spec had very small freezers, too small to fit even a frozen pizza. Also they were all single door (not french doors) in this price range. We finally came across this unit and it was perfect. The ice maker is built into the left upper door, leaving the freezer completely open and usable, lots of space. Other units have similar cubic footage in the freezer but much of it is taken up by the ice maker and thus not usable. All of the shelving is adjustable including the door bins, and the door storage functionality is very useful. The lower freezer bin has a fully adjustable divider (most other brands/models were fixed in place). The adjustable temp refrigerator drawers have high quality, sturdy rollers and feel very nice when opening/closing, not flimsy like many others. The ice maker/dispenser works perfectly (and quickly) and really doesn't take up any otherwise usable space (the door shelves are just smaller on the left door) and also stores more than enough ice. The crushed ice feature works very well and quickly. The temperature readout & adjustment are very simple and accessible on the front panel. The center door seal is high quality and has a good, solid feel when closing. The stainless steel finish is very high quality and looks great. The handle/pull bars are sturdy and have a very nice design to them, are easily removable when needed. The fridge and freezer both keep temperature perfectly, even in the door storage bins. The unit is completely silent.
I really could not have designed a better refrigerator to fit our space and feature requirements!

We are happy with our new GE refrigerator, especially the ease of getting into the ice maker bib to empty it. Like the retracting shelf and adjustable bins on both doors. The freezer setup is very convenient"

Love my new French door refrigerator with ice make and water dispenser on outside door. I only wish this refrigerator was available in stainless steel finger print resistance. Otherwise I would give it a 5 rating.
