It was purchased to replace one that had died. It was all that was available to me at that time. Would I have purchased it otherwise, don't know.

So far we love the GE brand and the stainless steel look. We always wanted something with water/ice/crushed ice on the door, the bottom freezer is a lot nicer and easier than having a top freezer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We like our fridge!

We are a GE family! This our first experience with a french door/freezer on the bottom configuration and we had to get over the muscle-memory from our old fridge configuration; no worries. In order to access the bottom fridge tray we have to open both doors; we've gotten used to that. The compressor is a little louder than we expected but does eventually fade into the background. We would recommend this fridge.

A Great Fridge that Almost Never Shuts Up

The fridge is spacious and beautifully laid out. It does, however, run noisily almost constantly. It seems that all new fridges emit noise 80 to 90% of the time, so this comment is not actually a criticism of this particular fridge.. If we can send people into outer space, why can't we have a quieter fridge? GE, are you listening?

This fridge seems to run constantly. Thankfully it's in the garage and we got the service plan in case it burns out its motors. The motor stops when you open a door but starts again immediately after you close the door. It tries to make ice, even though it's not connected to water. (I don't see a way to turn off the ice maker in the manual, like you can with our other fridge.) Otherwise it has a clean and functional design and is very useful.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Enjoying a better ice maker

Only oddity with the frig is the dull/ flat black area around the ice maker. Would have looked better if it reflected the rest of the frig.

This refrigerator is okay. The materials used to make it are not quality and pretty cheaply made. The motors are very loud. The dispensing system in the door is located far too low for normal sized people. It needs to be brighter on the inside as well it definitely needs more lights.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
