although i purchased this refrigerator only a few months ago, i am pleased with the storage area and low operating cost. Excellent ice maker and also pleased with freezer function, ie no "freezer burn"

Just bought it and found that it chills rapidly. I have owned a GE fridge and it lasted 15 years and my 12 year old GE dishwasher is going strong.

Wish they thought of the little things

I hate that the shelves on the left door are so small and shallow you can’t really put much in it, one shelf is probably an inch deep. The door on the left wants to close shut anytime I open it, meanwhile the door on the right swings wide open (and food in door shelf go flying) and I have to be careful to make sure it actually closes because it wants to swing open because of the way the hinge is made. Little things like this make this fridge extremely annoying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re very happy with our new refrigerator! We had a side by side and this is so much bigger! The only thing we’ve noticed is that the water has a plastic taste. We haven’t had it that long so hopefully it goes away.

After the repair person gave me the estimate to fix our old fridge, we decided it wasn’t worth it. We asked what brands he thought were good. He mentioned GE. We needed one narrower than what most are, and because of this our choices were limited. The fridge works fine after having it for several weeks now. Some parts seem less robust. It is also quite a bit noisier. It has kind of a high pitched hum a lot of the time. Otherwise, it suits our needs.

I love the no-fingerprint slate finish. But it is unhandy, especially with the drawers that are not very flexible with positioning. The freezer looked great in the store, but is unhandy to use, very deep & the top drawer seems to always be in the way of the bottom, so you "lose" things in there. One of the worst features is the lowest drawer in the refrigerator section. You have to open BOTH outside doors to access the food in there....the fruit and vegetable drawers right above that are both separate. I don't understand the manufacturing. I am sorry I purchased this model. I am pleased with the stove from the same line. Not as pleased with the microwave and dishwasher. Dishwasher seems to not like the size bowls I have & it's difficult to work them into the rack; nothing seems to fit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
