I like the easy use and the large storage space. Cons: Inside shelves not very adjustable and you can only use GE filter at a high cost due to a hidden micro chip that talks to the control panel and you can only use the XWFE filter. :-(
We are transitioning from a Samsung refrigerator which had tons of bells and whistles but had major reliability issues. Our repairman recommended GE for our next fridge and Consumer Reports rated this unit highly. So far, it has been great. The refrigerator cools down quickly; the ice maker is excellent; and it has plenty of space for all of our items.
I really like my new refrigerator. My previous one was only 5 years old but was on its last leg. I love the freezer on the bottom. Best feature is the great space on the door! You can put 3 gallon size containers on the bottom shelf and still have room to spare. One down side is the ice maker. It cannot be shut off manually. Sometimes it makes too much ice and flows over the back and onto the bottom of the freezer. I have no idea how to remove them.
I am thoroughly disappointed in this fridge. We've had multiple other GE fridges that we love, but this one does not hold up to their reputation. It operates SO LOUDLY any time the fridge has to work at all. It's a high-low humming that we can hear in other parts of our house, which we've never experienced with a fridge before. We had a GE technician come out to look at it and he said "that's just the way this one works" so we are now stuck with it, not able to return it. Don't waste your money on this one.

Hi - Thank you for reaching out regarding your beautiful GE refrigerator. We regret to hear of your disappointment with the new unit. The newer model refrigerators do have a higher sound level than models of the past. This is due in large part to the efficient high speed compressor that will run 80-90% of the time. The advantage to this design is it allows for more consistent temperatures in both the freezer and fresh food sections and it actually saves energy since the compressor uses more energy when it starts up vs when it's running. This new refrigerator will definitely seem louder due to these longer run times. We see you did have an authorized servicer check the refrigerator and they determined the refrigerator is operating normally. We certainly appreciate your feedback and will be sure to let our refrigeration design team know how you feel. We wish you all the best! Vikki@GEA
I bought this refrigerator with an open mind. I wanted space, convenience and a simple ice maker. My husband liked the adjustable shelving and freezer on the bottom. I’m short he’s tall and I love it! It’s so versatile even for our kids. I’ll continue to by GE for life, a brand I know and trust.
The glass shelves are wide and deep; so are the door shelves. I can put milk cartons, large jars, etc. on the doors. I like the convenience of the pull out freezer door, although it could use some more compartments because when it is full, I have to take out items to find what I'm looking for many times.
I would recommend this to a friend!
