This fridge replaced a Samsung french door with flex drawer. For sure we will never buy another Samsung. I love having the ice in the freezer. I lost a little freezer room, but it was well worth it. And I love having just one door to open with lots and lots of fridge space. One of the best appliance purchases we've made for our home.
Door doesn’t close unless you push it closed. We have found it open many times. Not recommended for families with kids.

Hi there, Thanks for choosing a GE refrigerator for your home! The bottom freezer models don't have self-closing doors due to their design, and we can certainly understand how incredibly frustrating this would be with kids! We're so sorry for any inconvenience this causes for you and your family. Please let us know if any future questions come up, we're always here to help. Wishing you the very best! - Sharon@GEA
Terrible layout. Our 15 year old GE had a much better design.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After returning a brand new LG Refrigerator because of cooling issues, we bought the GE, based on customer reviews. The new shelves sag, with very little weight on them. The whole unit just feels cheaply made. The ice maker is quite noisy when it is functioning.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, and thanks for reporting your concerns to us. We truly hate to hear you've had an issue with sagging shelves and noise from the icemaker; we know this may cause inconvenience, especially with a new replacement unit.
We strive to build our appliances with quality, durable materials that are built to last; our Design team will be alerted to the issue with your shelves, for future review and development. The shelves are tested for 35 pounds per square foot; full width shelves shouldn't exceed 50 pounds total. We hope that information is helpful for you.
Regarding the sound level, newer models can be a bit louder than older ones because of added features and technology. We do still strive to provide as quiet an experience as possible, and our Design team will also be informed of your concern in this area. We truly value your insights, as we always want to be sure we're aware of any potential issues.
We are happy to help any time, if you have any other questions or concerns. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA
Good fridge option for 33" width with single door, bottom freezer drawer and no ice dispenser. Not many options available in this size and configuration. The fridge space is great. The bottom freezer drawer is a little smaller than expected, but adequate. Overall excellent appliance for options and cost.
