Wanted to replace my black GE with stainless. Changed from freezer top to bottom and it is a wonderful benefit! I don’t have the water dispenser in the inside like the last but that is ok. I have very limited space and this just looks bigger, reflects light to make room look bigger and works very well. Seems like a lot more space in the inside of the fridge, and the freezer is also very room.
I love the lighting and space that this single door fridge gives. The ice maker replenishes very quickly and the bin is a large so we never run out of ice even when entertaining. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5 star rating is a loud buzz/vibration when the compressor is running that we can't seem to fix but we're working on it.
It cools well but it's a bit noisy. We needed to with the way the door opens, we were able to switch the hinges but the manual doesn't mention how to remove the door handle. It does have any visible screws to loosen it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi!
Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear about the issues that you've had here with your unit. If you're wanting to remove the fresh food handle, you'll simply grasp it with both hands and lift upward until the handle releases from the fasteners. If you're wanting to re-attach it, you will line the handle up with those fasteners and pull down until you hear it click into place.
Happy to hear that your unit is cooling but if you're concerned about the noises you're hearing, take a look at the following article: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901
Fridge looks great, works fine, however the parts are very cheaply made. They are made to fail in x amount of years. I was doing my scheduled vacuuming out the dust and noticed the power cord had cracks in it. Of course all the appliance part stores are sold out of this part because many others have issues too. I have never had a power cord break at 2 yrs.
We love how spacious it is and that it's a single door. Lots of shelves. Freezer could be a little bigger. We have a GE chest freezer that makes up for it.
The refrigerator has great space and the LED lights really make a difference, now we can see everything better. First time for freezer on the bottom, so far so good. Easy to install. We even had to take the doors off to get it in the house, simple to put back together, easy to follow instructions.
