Great but door closing is not ideal

Great shelf layout in frig and freezer Like the digital temp control. until it breaks Very roomy but sticks out several inches from counter, cabinet Like door open alarm BUT does not always work: door is not self closing so it requires a push to close the last half inch Like Energy Star, slotted door shelves, no ice or water feature in door Did not install ice maker: leak risk, no water line nearby

It's perfect

Works perfect in our space, it's quite, has so much room, and no chemical taste from the ice like some reviews stated. After searching for months for the best fridge for our money, I'm glad our search kept leading us back to GE. We needed a single door refrigerator with a universal door, with a freezer on the bottom. And only 3 brands came up in our search. After doing my research, GE won hands down. Sometimes you have to weed through the negative comments, like it came dented, or the door fell off (which can be explained if the installer didn't switch to door properly), and my personal favorite it so loud. So thos is for all the ones on the fence, there is always those ones that will complain about a dent, but that falls not on the product it's self. Read the reviews and be your own judge, then do the research on the other fridges. Because the other fridge I was possibly wanted, has some legal thing going on.

Capacity is awesome

Long time GE customers. The refrigerator is designed for maximum capacity for all sizes of containers. Love the shelving options. It is extremely quiet, can hardly tell it is running. Uses much less energy that our previous appliance. The cooling temperature is constant and accurate.

Great choice so far

So far, so good. Taller than when I measured in the store (69 & 7/8"). Roomier than any other 33"-width fridge, which we appreciate. Despite the standard temp setting of 37 F, it cools almost too well, because we found our cottage cheese and sour cream frozen when kept toward the back of the fridge. Stainless steel seems to resist fingerprints.

I feel so bad that this fridge did not work. At just 2 months or less it started to give us problems. Had to call 3 times the garranty to fix it and still has the same problem. Now just waiting to see if we can replace it

Absolutely Horrific Engineering!

A service tech came out because I believe the door has a manufacturing defect... he tried to tell me it's supposed to be like that because the doir is heavy... lol.
Problem: the door scrapes te bottom of the inside case... even if the door is empty and has been adjusted. There's visible deep grooves at the contact point inside the case. There's an inch at the top iver clearance and zero clearance at the bottom where it scrapes. (Insane engineering). I will never put a GE in any of my homes after I leave this brand new luxury apartment built in TX with all brand new GE appliances, washer, dryer, stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. I wouldn't want to deal with such incompetence in the home we're building just outside if town in Dallas. These are gorgeous modern luxury apartments... GE is pulling one iver on them saying this is normal. I'm a retired engineer... I know better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
