I feel so bad that this fridge did not work. At just 2 months or less it started to give us problems. Had to call 3 times the garranty to fix it and still has the same problem. Now just waiting to see if we can replace it

Absolutely Horrific Engineering!

A service tech came out because I believe the door has a manufacturing defect... he tried to tell me it's supposed to be like that because the doir is heavy... lol.
Problem: the door scrapes te bottom of the inside case... even if the door is empty and has been adjusted. There's visible deep grooves at the contact point inside the case. There's an inch at the top iver clearance and zero clearance at the bottom where it scrapes. (Insane engineering). I will never put a GE in any of my homes after I leave this brand new luxury apartment built in TX with all brand new GE appliances, washer, dryer, stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. I wouldn't want to deal with such incompetence in the home we're building just outside if town in Dallas. These are gorgeous modern luxury apartments... GE is pulling one iver on them saying this is normal. I'm a retired engineer... I know better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice looking, but some initial issues

I have only had it a day, so sort of hard to rate, you know? So far, it looks great, it's roomy. The installers upsold us a new waterline. After 24 hours, no ice. So I decided to move out the fridge and discovered the water wasn't turned back on. Then, I noticed it had only 6 ice cubes produced in 12 hours. I took out the bottom drawer, and looked at the ice maker. I saw the on/off switch was in the half-way position rather than all the way to ON. That didn't seem right, so I moved it to the left to On. Hopefuly, that will give us more ice, otherwise, will have to get a replacement. Just funny, though since the only reason we bought a new GE fridge is that the ice maker went out on the old one! Hopefully, I'll be able to edit this in the future. Seems odd to have to do a review today in order to be entered into the raffle. Probably won't win anyway since I said something negative...But you asked.

We're confident that you will start to see more ice production as time goes by, typically when first getting everything installed, it can be normal to see little ice. This is due to the refrigerator acclimating and reaching those optimal temperatures. WATER DISPENSER AND ICE MAKER POOR

We purchased this refrigerator in 2012. We only had it approximately 3 years when the water dispenser and ice maker started being a problem. The water dispenser works now and then and we cannot determine what the circumstances are that make it work and the ice maker generates a lot of ice but mostly a lot of ice thatais fused together and one solid piece rather that separate ice cubes/pieces as you would expect. We have had it fixed at a high cost only to have the same problem occur about 6 weeks later which is past the date to the fix guarantee. Would never purchase this refrigerator again
