Nice refrigerator

This is a nice basic refrigerator. Plenty of space and well laid out with cheese drawer, crispers and ice maker in the freezer section. Large storage spaces in the door. This refrigerator is a little noisier when running, but not objectionable to us and we have come to not notice it. Controls are convenient inside the door.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great temperature control, size, and quiet. Wanted a new fridge as an upgrade from very old appliances. It's great to be able to see all the food, top fridge / bottom freezer is a great way to go. Plenty of space for foods. Good temp control for vegetables, fruits, etc.

Smart elegant design. Spacious. Some nice touches like the theatre lighting and curved door which makes it seems less bulky in the kitchen.

Large enough to fit our needs. Small enough to fit upstairs in a turn of the century building!

Does what it's supposed to do

We decided we could live without a water dispenser but must have ice. We like the utility of the bottom freeze. It's not huge but there's just 2 of us. It looks good and works great. One minor flaw is that it's a little noisy when compressor is running but nothing you can't get used to and may depend on your placement I suppose. 6 months i and so far we're happy.

I like the color. The top shelf has lots of weight on it with water bottles, bottle beer, soda bottles and cans. This weight causes the shelf to bow down. The shelf should have support along the back wall. The frig runs often. The motor has a harmonic pulsating sound rather than a steady one level. Lastly I like the location of the freezer on the bottom. I would have preferred a swing out door that is light and it gives the freezer more space.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from geappliances.comBy Gina@GEA, GE Appliances, January 24, 2022
Hi - We're happy to hear you like the color of your refrigerator and that you enjoy the location of the freezer. We apologize for the noise the refrigerator makes and understand the nuisance that can be. We appreciate your feedback regarding the freezer door and will pass it along to the appropriate team for consideration. Regarding the weight of the shelves, please review the information below:
Refrigerators with cantilever shelves (have brackets that fit in rear wall supports) are tested for 35 pounds per square foot.
These shelves should not exceed 50 pounds total weight for full width shelves and 25 pounds for half width shelves. These same limitations hold true for glass and plastic vegetable bin covers.
An example of the weight of an average refrigerator item would be a gallon container. It weighs 8 pounds, and a full width shelf can hold 6 of them. A quart container weighs 2 pounds, and a full width shelf can hold 24. The door shelves have no specific limitations.
Note: The above information also applies to non-cantilever shelves.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional comments or concerns. -Gina@GEA
