Fridge in general is good. But whilst it’s running it makes a terrible high-pitched noise that pulses. Was told by a GE repairman that it’s inevitable and unfixable.
It is hard to find a nice 30" wide bottom freezer fridge. This has been remarkable. Excellent amount of inside storage space both in the fridge and the door, and the two tier freezer make organization super eazy!
seems to run quite a lot even at factory suggested settings . when running is louder that my dishwasher . freezer slide door is also loud and not smooth.
On my current GE refrigerator, similar to this one, the right hand bin has a little latch which will allow the drawer to be moved to the left for removal without unloading everything in the door. (The hinges are on the right). You take the left side drawer (facing the unit) out of the refrigerator and press the latch in the center, and the right side drawer moves enough to the left so it can clear the door. GE thoughtfully did this in case your unit is close to a wall or other obstruction, and the door cannot go all the way to the right.
Does this model have this feature? I see it mentioned nowhere in the manual.
Pleased with the layout and it does the job as far as keeping things cold. It is slightly noisy, with a frequent high-pitched whine. Better than our older fridge, though.
Fits our needs, the color and finish seems more expensive, lots of room, was concerned about noises that it makes, but no longer notice, upgrade for us to have an ice-maker . . . I hope to see it there for many years!
