Missing the bells and whistles

We like the fridge overall as it holds a lot for only a 30” compared to our previous one. However I’m disappointed that GE does not provide internal water dispenser for 30” and also has no butter tray on the door which we have been used to for many years. I also find the motor is a bit loud for a brand new fridge.
Refrigerator seems noisy and we object that both sides of the machine are not stainless.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Dorothy11, we're sorry that your refrigerator door won't stay open and that is seems noisy. We know how annoyed you must be and we're happy to help. If you're hearing a squeaking noise on your hinge, we recommend viewing our troubleshooting tips here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16837 - In addition, make sure that the ground this refrigerator is sitting on is level. If not, this could be causing the door to swing shut. This unit comes equipped with leveling legs to fix this if that's the case. Next, you are correct that the sides are not stainless steel. The specifications state that this textured steel case has a dark gray finish. We hope this is helpful information and wish you the best. - Guy@GEA
Came out of the box with a busted compressor. It looked nice while it was in the kitchen for less than 24 hours. Using a “loaner”

Hello Babs1281, we're very sorry to hear that the compressor wasn't working. We know what a buzzkill it must've been to have a brand new refrigerator that didn't work. Thank you for letting us know so we can make sure this doesn't happen again. - Guy@GEA
The fridge is making a low humming noise. It seems to be in the back near the freezer

Hi Dunkin100 - Thanks for choosing GE Appliances! Our refrigerators continue to be manufactured with as quiet an operation as possible. When the surrounding noise is low, you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating which is normal and comes from the high efficiency compressor.
Please take a look at page 38 in your manual for normal operating sounds: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60805-3.PDF
We love our new GE refrigerator. Very roomy and the bottom freezer is easy to organize with drawer. We chose the slate color. It is a color that blends in nicely with our decor. Very easy to clean exterior. It is also very quiet while running. Would definitely recommend this refrigerator!
This is one of the best refrigerator/Freezer compared to my old Kenmore and Maytag! hands down! I love the space it has and the depth and width inside, the ice maker is nice and quiet! It fits beautiful in my new kitchen. The door seals nice and tight, keeps my food fresh and cold!!!!! First GE and want be the last one! Thanks GE your are the best.
