Fridge was DOA and only uses expensive GE filters

The unit I had installed is DOA. I'm going to have to get a new fridge delivered and reinstalled. Additionally, the water filter has an RFID chip that prevents generic filters from being used. If I had know this was the case, I would have selected another brand. Over time, the GE filters will end up costing more than the refrigerator. Very disappointed in GE.

WASTE OF MONEY

WASTE OF MONEY, FREEZER KEEPS FROSTING UP CAUSING THE FAN BLADE TO HIT ICE FORMING ON THE COILS. BESIDES THAT ITS JUST PLAIN LOUD WHEN OPPERATING LIKE IT SHOULD.

Too noisy

Very poor quality materials!

Glass on one of the Shelves broke within the first 24 hours of delivery in small tiny pieces! Everything I had on the fridge below the shelves had to be thrown away!! And no, it didn’t have too much weight on the shelve… The shelve only had milk, butter and some cheese! I’d the shelve can’t hold that much something is very wrong!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great replacement

The original refrigerator was returned to GE under warranty due to being unrepairable. We received this model as a replacement. This model has a water filter for ice, LED lighting, rollers on the draws and very easy access controls.
I would recommend this to a friend!
