Very Nice Refrigerator

We are very happy with the refrigerator, the only problem was that the ice maker stopped working after a week but have since had that fix. Other than that we are quite satisfied.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We've only had it a week, but I can make a few statements about it -
It is quiet compared to the unit it replaced, though it does make more noise when in "turbo cooling" mode while it is initially cooling following first startup and it does make some clunking and hissing noised when the icemaker is emptying and refilling, though the clunking diminishes when the ice cube tray fills up.
The produce drawers are deceptively small, with lots of wasted space surrounding them.
The main volume of the refrigerator is plenty large, and the shelves seem adjustable enough to accomodate most needs.
The door shelves have sufficient capacity and are adjustable enough to suit most needs.
The freezer drawers seem to have less capacity than the official volume would suggest, with a fair amount of wasted volume between the outside of the drawers and the walls of the freezer. The ice cube tray is perhaps oversized as well, but time will tell.
I'll refresh this review after we've lived with it for a few months.

This appliance is a G(reat) E(xample) of a basic, not too frilly or complicated bottom freezer refrigerator! Especially true since I ordered this product online---none to be found at local retailers! Very pleased so far.

Large amount of space

I love the amount of space in the refrigerator part. However the freezer compartment is rather small and it doesn't produce much ice.

The overall appearance and the apparent build quality both are good - I love the slate finish. The fridge interior is also quite a bit more spacious and we'll lit than we anticipated. The main downsides that I can see so far are that it's slightly louder than our previous LG fridge, the crisper drawers are small with a lot of wasted space given to the slide tracks, and the freezer is rather small. Overall, however, I would recommend this fridge.

Replaces "respected brand" French door model

We like the size which is 2" narrower than the model replaced. We found the right hand opening door to be more convenient for our kitched layout than the French door. The bottom freezer pullout at our age is a MUST. No bending for the refrigerator storage space for us. The unit is a pleasing shade of subdued gray, which we prefer to stainless steel, our second choice. White or black were too harsh for our decor. There is actually more usable and flexible door shelf space than our previous larger unit. Giving it 4 stars, remains to be seen if it lasts longer than the less than 5 years the previous "other brand" unit which lost its compressor. Also, not able to evaluate GE long term performance, owned for less than 30 days at this review date. The independent service tech, who pronounced our previous unit dead, suggested GE replacement as opposed to other popular brands.
I would recommend this to a friend!
